Wanda People, let’s discover a special young woman, who has stood out from many by her charisma, her dynamism, her talent. This is the brave Minna Salami, writer, blogger and commentator who received numerous awards, fruits of his efforts.
Minna Salami is an award-winning writer, blogger and commentator. Her work focuses on African feminism, society and popular culture and as such she has written for various publications including The Guardian, The Independent and The Huffington Post.
Minna is the editor of the award-winning blog MsAfropolitan, part of the Guardian Africa Network, a network of blogs and websites, offering the best in African news and commentary on the pages of The Guardian, one of the world’s biggest daily newspapers.
She is the winner of the African Diaspora Awards “Outstanding Achievement in Media” award 2013 and the Women4Africa “Blogger of the Year” Award 2013; listed as one of “40 African change-makers under 40” by Applause Africa; “one of 50 Remarkable Women connected by Nokia” and shortlisted “Blogger of the Year” in RED Magazine “Red’s Hot Women Awards” 2012. She is a guest speaker at settings such as the the Southbank Centre, The V&A Museum, University of Northampton (keynote), Channel 4 and TV Ontario.
Minna’s degrees include a Master of Arts with Distinction in Gender Studies from the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).
